Ancient Chamori remains in Chicago?

The Hawaii-based organization, Bring Our Ancestors Home Foundation announced this morning that it has received
information that as many as Ten (10) boxes of ancient Chamori remains and sacred artifacts are being stored at the
Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago, Illinois.

According to Communications Secretary, Lynn Cruz, "The foundation has received information via the Internet from
associates in the region that as many as Ten (10) boxes of ancient Chamori remains and sacred artifacts are in storage
at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago, Illinois."

"Our sources informed us that these remains and artifacts may have been initially part of the Hornbostel/Thompson
Collection. The Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago was one of organizers which funded the Hornbostel/Thompson
expeditions in the 1920's and 1930's." Cruz said. "Our researchers are investigating records from the Bishop Museum and
U.S. Navy to validate the information before we approach the Museum for repatriation under the Native American Graves Act."
